Friday Find: Ballerina Stand

I'm always on the look out for fresh and unusual things to use as display props for my booth table at shows. One of the things I've been searching for is something to hold most of my necklaces and this is what I've been using for the past year—it has a nice revolving function, but is not quite as stylish as I would like:

So when I first saw this darling little ballerina stand, the light bulb in my head flashed and I just knew I HAD to have it!

I found her at a local Ross store, back in the home decor section for about $12. She is about 29" tall and 15" wide, and originally had large purple crystals dangling from those large loops at the edge of her skirt that I wasn't fond of—but I knew she had a ton of potential! So I removed all the crystals, bought a roll of white tulle ribbon, and performed a little makeover magic on her. Added on my necklaces for some pretty "bling" in those loops and here's how she looks now—ready for my display table:

Isn't she fabulous!?! I used her for the first time last weekend while I was at the Farmer's Market show. She made quite a statement on my table and my customers headed straight for her as soon as they entered the booth. I did learn that she was a little on the top-heavy side, so I'm planning on adding a wider base to help stabilize her better. I also added a few more necklaces up at the top around her "neck" and love that those two little curly "arms" have potential to hold things like matching earrings or a few bracelets. Or I could switch out the necklaces someday and add pendants and charms to those loops…the possibilities are endless! *Ü*

What would YOU like to display on a fun stand like this?

  1. I think she is adorable. I am always on the look out for better displays, you have a winner there.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I love hearing from you and hope you will stop by again! *Ü*
